Lower Tons river expedition

The Tons river flows through Garhwal, the western part of the Himalayan state of Uttaranchal, bordering Himachal Pradesh. With its source in the 20,720 ft high Bandarpunchh mountain, it is the biggest tributary of the Yamuna, and, in fact, carries more water than the Yamuna itself. One of the popular rafting expeditions at Uttarakhand is closed to the Tons River flowing through Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
This experience offers us complete information on river expedition in India. The Tons demarcates the borders of Himachal Pradesh and West Uttrakhand. Lower Tons River Expedition is the normal rafting run and makes for a nice introductory run. On first phase we will visit Camp Lunagad, Tons river, located at 3600 ft above sea level in thick pine forest. From here we will move to Ringali Rest house - a British rest house. Then we will go further to Tiuni. The village is located on the confluence of the Pabbar and Tons rivers. Tiuni is nestled among forests of alpine paddocks and rhododendron. Further there is Icchari dam, which is one of the electrifying rafting expeditions in Uttarakhand. Icchari dam is our last destination.
Day 01: From Delhi to Lunagad.
Our journey will initiate from Delhi to Camp Lunagad (435 km from Delhi). After reaching the Tons valley we will check into the camps. Stay at night and have our dinner at camp side.
Day 02-03:
On second and third day, after our breakfast, we will strike the rafting expedition on the Tons from Mori-Khunigad. This will help us in getting familiar with paddling commands and strokes. Stay overnight at camp and relish our dinner at camp side.
Day 04-05:
On fourth and fifth day, we will trek up to Ringalli Rest house which is an old British Rest House. Stay overnight there. Return to Camp Lunagad by the afternoon of Day 05 for lunch.
Day 06-07:
On 6th day after a drive of 1 hr we will go down to Tiuni, below the union of the Pabbar and Tons rivers. Here we can start rafting expedition to raft till Icchari dam. Stay overnight camps on the river.
Day 08: On this day, we will depart for Delhi.
