Lhabha Tarum Tsachu Trek

 

Lhabha – Tsarchu is set in North Sillim, and has lots of confinements due to the rich density of herbs and medicinal valued plants. During this whole trek, you can make your journey delightful with the pure air and silence of wilderness. Feel the awakening of senses laden by urban living. The highest elevation point of Lhaba-Pass is 4300m. Start Trekking from either side. It can be begun from Tarum Chachu-hot spring, which ends at Youmthang in Lachung, or from Youmthang. The trek ends at Tarum chachu in Lachen side.Trek through the valleys and quaint villages, where peaks scoop up strange and wonderful shapes and the beauty of Sikkim Himalayas stretch out here.

Yumthang:

Yumthang is set at an elevation of 11,800 ft. 140 km from Gangtok, this place is a heaven for nature lovers. Yumthang provides an enchanting blend of flora and faunaand exciting scenic grandeur. It has a large variety of Rhododendrons and other alpine flowers.

Lachung:

The village of Lachung has Lachung Monastery. There is local populace living on the opposite the highway. Lachung is located on the way to Yumthang Valley, just 25 km away.
How to get there:

By Air: Sikkim doesn’t have any airport, but the nearest Airport is Bagdogra (near Siliguri) in West Bengal, which lays only 125kms away from Gangtok the capital of Sikkim. Bagdogra linked with cities like Delhi and Kolkata.

By Road: Sikkim can be reached through northern areas of West Bengal. Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Siliguri are directly connected to Gangtok and other cities of the state. Avoid traveling during the monsoon seasons. Temporary problems may occur.

By Rail: The nearest Railways Station is New Jalpaiguri (near Siliguri), which is linked with Gangtok. Gangtok has an extensive rail network with major Railway Stations in India, such as Kolkata, Delhi. It is also linked with the cities of Northeastern India like, Guwahati.
Places to visit nearby:

Yumthang: The routes to Yumthang pass through the rugged mountains. Travel through
an area of Yumthang where the sweet aroma of Azalea blends in the air.

Kabi Langchuk: Traverse through small villages flanked by fields and valleys. Explore the forest grove of Kabi Langchuk.

Phodong: Built in 1740, The Karma Kagyu monastery is the famous monastery in Phodong. The intricate murals are the main attraction.


Prerequisites/Facts/Suggestion:

• Get familiar with the climate before trekking.

• Trekkers can only follow well-beaten trails and within a limited period of time.

• Trekking permission is required for restricted areas while trekking.

• Make sure that you do not dirty the camping sites and surrounding places.

• This moderate trek requires reasonable fitness.

• A low altitude trek is of 2600m.
