Get familiar with the natural environs while we go on an easy nature trail along the Assiganga. We will find our self in fewer numbers amidst the varied Himalayan birds. Get used to the topography of the Lesser Himalayas. It has the winding channel that makes its way through a silent forest to an even more silent and magnificent, water pool. The local stream, the Assi Ganga, abounds in Brown trout. Our journey will commence from Delhi to Kuflon via Haridwar. Thereafter, we will move for “Day hikes” in Kuflon. From here we will go for “village hike” in villages like Assi ganga and Seku then will get back to Delhi.
Day 01: Arrive Kuflon (1550m)
On first day, we will start our journey from Delhi to Kuflon via Haridwar. We will take lunch at Haridwar before reaching Kuflon by tea. Take a familiarization walk for 1 hr after tea. Campfire follows with dinner. Stay overnight in Kuflon.
Day 02: Day Hikes
Second day will be of “day hikes”. This day starts with an early morning bird watching hike which normally takes 2-3 hrs. This walk will stick to the path along the Assiganga stream. The best place for sightings of dippers, white capped redstarts or score a few lifers spotting an occasional hungry Himalayan Kingfisher. Thereafter get back to camp for a home cooked buffet breakfast. In after noon get packed with your lunch by a totally sheltered water pool. In evening, have tea at the camp followed with a small outing to the village of Kuflon. Overnight follows with delicious dinner at campfire.
Day 03: Village Hike
After having an early breakfast, carry packed lunch to trek 3 hrs up the valley of the Assi Ganga to Seku village. We will visit the trout breeding farm and the Forest department managed herbarium. Trek back to Kuflon by tea time. Relax over a campfire dinner. Overnight follows at Kuflon.
Day 04: Kuflon - Delhi
After breakfast, we will depart for our onward destination.
