A spectacular trek to the Kauri Pass skirting through the outer wall of the Nanda Devi sanctuary, crossing passes and beautiful river systems in the Garhwal Himalaya, the Kuari Pass trek is widely popular among the European and American travelers. At an altitude of 4265m in the heart of Chamoli District of Uttaranchal in the northeastern part of Garhwal, the Kauri Trek, also known as the Curzon Trail takes one through lush green fields, remote villages and the virgin forests. Providing an enchanting view of the bounty peaks of Nanda Devi, Dunagiri, Bethartoli and Devasthan, the Kauri pass trek is amongst the best in the Garhwal mountains.

There are two ways through which one can reach the Kauri Way. One is through the Curzon Trail i.e from Ghat via Ramni. If one take this trek one gets to see the majestic twin peaks of Nanda Devi, Kamet, Dronagiri, and Hathi- Ghodi Parvat. Rare Himalayan flora and fauna are found aplenty on the trail. The other route which however should not be taken in the winter is from Auli Bugyal through Gorson Top.

Day 01: 272 km drive to Auli

In morning, we will drive to Auli, with lunch en route. Have dinner and stay at night in Hotel/camps.

Day 02: 14 km trek to Tali (2900 meters) via Gorson Top

With packed lunch, we will trek to Tali via Gorson Top. Dinner and overnight stay follows in camp.

Day 03: 12 km trek to Gailgarh (3408 meters)

A 12 km trek will bring us to Gailgarh, with packed lunch. Have dinner and stay overnight in camp.

Day 04: 6 km trek to Kuari pass (4265 meters)

A trek of 6 km will reach at Kuari pass. Take a return trek to base Gailgarh. Lunch is in the camp. Dinner and overnight stay follows in the camp.

Day 05: 16 km trek to Tapovan. 15 km to Joshimath.

Trek down to Tapovan after having light food. Further a 15 km trek will take us to Joshimath. Dinner and overnight stay follows in a Hotel.

Day 06: 260 km drive back to Rishikesh.

Drive back to Rishikesh to have lunch. Arrive at Rishikesh.
