Kaziranga National Park, situated at the banks of mighty Brahmaputra River, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Park is known as the home of Great Indian One-horned Rhinoceroses.
The vast landscape is dotted with tall elephant grasslands, marshland and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests. Four major rivers, including Brahmaputra, meander through the expanse. Forests are also crisscrossed by innumerable streams.
Alluvial inundated grasslands, alluvial savanna woodlands, tropical moist mixed deciduous forests and tropical semi-evergreen forests are the four kind of vegetation found in the park.
