Indrahar Pass starts from Dharamsala (1219 m), home of the Dalai Lama, in the Kangra valley, passes over the mighty snowbound Dhauladhar Range, and ends at Lamu in the Ravi River valley. It captivates you with its beautiful landscapes, pine and deodar forests and sparkling streams
This Pass is starting from McLeodganj (Dharamsala) at about 6000ft in the Kangra valley and passing over the potent snowbound Dhauladhar. It ends at Lamu in the Ravi valley.
Our journey starts from Delhi and ends in Chambha. While going further we will visit Dharamshala, which is the principal township of Kangra and overlooks the wide spread of the plains. Then we will move to Triund, it is on the foothills of Dhauladhar range. This trek combines the beauty of two of the most beautiful valleys in Himachal Pradesh. Further, there is a Lahesh cave, located at the base of Indrahara Pass. There are spectacular views of the Indian plains; to the north are the sacred peak of Manimahesh Kailash and the snowcapped Pir Panjal Range. Moving further to the trek, will cross a few snow bridges and enter the Kuarsi Valley.
Kuarsi which is a shepherd village, these tracks have been used over centuries by the famous shepherd clan of Himachal called the Gaddi. Then there is Chambha, nestled on the bank of the river Ravi.

Day01 : Delhi to McLeodganj (1980m)
Take the overnight train to Pathankot and drive 4hrs to McLeodganj. Hotel
Day02 : In McLeodganj.
Mcleodganj is the seat of the Dalai Lama and is considered as the capital of the Tibetan government in exile. Explore this small township which has a lot to offer.Overnight stay is in hotel.
Day03 : Trek McLeodganj to Triund (2850m) 4-5hrs.
The walk up is quite steep and exposed. There are magnificent views down towards the plains. Overnight stay in Camp.
Day04 : Triund to Lahesh Cave.(3600m) 5-6hrs.
The trail climbs gently through the oak and conifer forests to reach the campsite at Laka Got where a few Gaddi shepherds and some travelers can usually be seen. We go further up to Lahesh Cave, a huge rock overhang which will be our shelter for the night.
Day05 : Lahesh Cave-Over Indrahar Pass (4350m)-Chatru Parao (3700m). 6-7hrs.
The walk up to the pass is by no means easy, the gradient of the Dhauladhars being quite steep one will have to be on all fours quite a few times. The views from the pass are simply breath taking, the Indian plains stretching to infinity on one side and the high snow caps of the Pir Panjal range on the other side. The descent again is very steep and is very tiring on the knees. Overnight stay is in camp.
Day06 : Chatru Parao to Kuarsi village (2700m) 5-6hrs.
The trail goes down moderately then steeply towards a stream for an hour and climbs strenuously for for about 3 hrs to rach a ridge crest. From here on it’s a straight downhill walk to Kuarsi, a typical Gaddi village. We will stay in a temple complex.
Day07 : This day is reserved for rest at Kuarsi village.
Day08 : Kuarsi to Lamu (1600m) 4-5hrs.
A short descent and an uphill yet again to reach a small pass which offers good views of the Dhauladhars in the south. From here it’s a step descent through the woods and the fields to reach the campsite of Lamu. Overnight stay is in camps.
Day09 : Drive Lamu to Dalhousie (2050m) 7-8hrs.
Drive along the Ravi river to reach the town of Chamba and then the road climbs up on the Dhauladhar ranges to reach Dalhousie via the pretty Khajjiar lake. Overnight stay is in hotel.
Day10 : Drive Dalhousie to Pathankot Railway Station (3hrs).
We will drive back to Delhi to board the overnight train to Delhi.
Take the overnight train to Pathankot and drive 4hrs to McLeodganj. Hotel
