Hampta Pass

 

Hampta Pass Trek is one of the most delightful treks in the Manali region, located in Himachal. It's an excellent option for the trekker who is reasonably fit. This trek proceeds through forests of walnut, oak and the occasional alder which keep you spellbound with their sheer grandeur and spectacul.

 

Hampta Pass trek begins from in the vicinity of Manali in the Kullu Valley and ends in Lahaul and the Chandra Valley. Scattered at a height of 4270 meters, this is a moderate trek with a scope for customization of duration to suit one’s time and convenience. The apt time to visit this place is May to October. This trek is also promising in the Monsoons when the wild flowers are in full bloom. It offers a close view of Mt. Deo Tibba, Mt. Indrasan and their Glaciers. The initial trek follows the river valley leading to the Hampta pass. As you trek, you will cross a river, across a Valley and get a beautiful view of Deo Tibba, Indrasan. Deo Tibba is popular among climbers who have good mountaineering knowledge. Hampta Pass promises to be a heaven for all those Trekking enthusiast

Day 01: Travel from Delhi to Manali, around 10-11 hrs.

 

We commence our tour from Delhi to reach Manali which will take approximately 11 hours.

 

Day 02: Travel from Prini to Panduropa, around 4-5 hrs.

 

On the second day we will start our journey from Prini to Panduropa. The journey will take around 4-5 hours. From the village of Prini, all the way uphill is the village of Saythen. We can look forward to fine and picturesque spots below in the beautiful Kullu valley. Subsequent to Saythen, the trail brings us to the narrow forested valleys of Panduropa.

 

Day 03: Travel from Panduropa to Chikha, around 4-5 hrs.

 

After nibbling at early morning munchies, we will pursue our journey from Panduropa to Chikha. Following to a 4-5 hrs journey, we will see the scenic high country side of the valley, above the tree-line. We will visit several side streams before descending to the Hampta River whose banks are linked by a snow bridge. We will stay in a camp at the beautiful meadow dotted by colourful alpine flowers.

 

Day 04: Travel from Chikha to Valu ka Ghar, around 3-4 hrs.

 

Subsequent to a light breakfast, we embark on our travel from Chikha to Valu ka Ghar which takes around 3-4 hrs. We will camp for a very short time we will stay in the camp just before the Hampta Pass.

 

Day 05: Travel from Valu ka Ghar to Hampta Pass to Siliguri, around 6-7 hrs.

 

A steep climb over slopes and boulder fields takes us to the Hampta Pass which offers beautiful views of both the peaks - Deo Tibba and Indrasan. A steep and hazardous descent on the rocky slopes brings us to campsite at Silliguri.

 

Day 06: Travel from Siliguri to Chatru, around 3-4 hrs.

 

On 6th day, we will move from Siliguri to Chatru. It is a journey of around 3-4 hrs. Followed by a couple of river crossings, we will arrive at a small settlement of Chatru on the banks of the Chandra River. Rejoice the night, under the starlit sky in a camp.

 

Day 07: Drive back to Manali, around 2-3 hrs.

 

After nibbling at early morning munchies, we will drive to Manali which takes 2-3 hrs.

 

Day 08: Return to Delhi

 

Last day we will drive from the picturesque Manali to Chandigarh and subsequently get back to the metropolitan life, Delhi.
