Deo Tibba Expedition

 

Deo Tibba is a technical peak set back in the Manali valley. Deo Tibba is popular among climbers who have good mountaineering knowledge. The approach is through the ancient village of Jagatsukh and the nearest town is Manali to do this trek.

 

Deo Tibba trek is a congenial trek that will take us to the grazing grounds of the Gaddi shepherds and the Chandertal Lake (4,480 m) with an outstanding view of Deo Tibba peak (6,001 m) and its huge lynching glaciers. This is a stunning sight that excites every trekker, giving it an exclusive experience.

 

This 13 day climbing itinerary includes ample time for acclimatization, thus maximizing our chances of reaching the summit. Throughout the trip there will be many opportunities to experience incredible views of other Himalayan peaks.

 

Our journey will commence from Delhi to reach Manali. We will get a chance to explore Manali. Thereafter, a 4 hrs trek will bring us to Setan. From Setan our journey will take us to Marhi, where we will explore Beas kund. The panoramic views of the places around will rejuvenate us mentally and physically.

 

From Marhi, while going to Tilgan, we will go through valleys, along steep climb. Thereafter, we will put up at our last destination, Manali.


Day 01: Arrival Delhi

 

Upon arrival at airport, meet the representatives and get transferred to hotel for overnight stay.

 

Day 02: Delhi to Manali (530 kms/14 hrs)

 

After breakfast,Spend half day in sight seeing at Delhi and by evening drive to Manali by AC Volvo coach. Overnight journey follows by road.

 

Day 03: Manali

 

We will reach Manali by morning time. On arrival, get transferred to hotel for relax and acclimatize. In the afternoon, we will explore Hadimba temple and in the evening enjoy at mall road. Have dinner stay at night at the hotel.

 

Day 04: Manali – Prini – Ponduropa - Setan (2700 mts/8856 ft) 4 hrs

 

After breakfast, we will drive to Prini village, which leads through the village via a Zig-zag trail to the valley floor and offers an extensive view. Reach Khangpa village of Saten who have migrated from Spiti. Khangpa community used to move as Nomads of Chang-thang does till now. Take dinner and overnight stay in camp.

 

Day 05: Panduropa - Setan - Chhika (3000 mts/9840 ft) 4 hours, Trek

 

A day is spent for trekking from Setan to Chhika. This trek needs 4 hours.

 

Day 06: Chhika - Marhi (3300 m/10824 ft) 5 hrs

 

During trekking, we will cross a river to other side of the Valley and get a beautiful view of Deo Tibba, Indrasan and Inderkilla, Hanuman Tibba (5930 m) and group of summits around Beas kund and also a landscape of Bara Bhangal Region. Have dinner and overnight stay in camp.

 

Day 07: Marhi - Piyangniru (3900 mts/12792 ft) 4 hrs

 

A 4 hrs trek will take us to Piyangniru. The whole area is bounded by high summits, hanging glaciers, and massive moraines. This is a true alpine zone that we are trekking in. In noon, we will spend time in exploring the surroundings. Have dinner and overnight stay in camp.

 

Day 08: Piyangniru - Raurikhaudi (3300 mts/10824 ft) 5 hrs

 

From Piyangniru to Raurikhaudi, it is a trek of 5 hrs. It gets little steeper in the beginning and after that all the way climb down to Raurikhaudi. The local shepherds of Kullu Valley can be seen grazing their herds of sheep and goat. Take dinner and overnight stay in camp.

 

Day 09: Raurikhaudi - Jogidugh (3000 mts / 10824 ft) Lamadugh/sorotu) 4 hrs.

 

A 4 hrs drive will take us to Jogidugh. It occupies a very famous place in the Hindu mythology, especially for the local habitants of the Valley. It is said to be a very holy place of Thakshag nag (serpent god). Have dinner and stay at night in a camp.

 

Day 10: Jogidugh - Tilgan (2900 mts/9512 ft) 4 hrs

 

Trek along the tree line which goes little down to avoid the steep cliff and again a little climb along the stream. After that, we will trek in a horizontal way right up to the campsite at Tilgan. At Tilgan, we can have a marvelous view of the Manali valley, town and surrounding. Dinner and overnight stay follows at the camp.

 

Day 11: Tilgam – Manali - Prini via Bhanara (2300 mts/7544 ft) 4 hrs

 

Trek to Prini is a scenic trail, which descends to Bhanara , there is an ancient temple of local God Near village and another historic cave (ARJUN GUFA) where the pandavas are believed to have taken refuge during their exile. From here, we will get down to the road side and drive back to Manali. Dinner and overnight stay follows in the hotel.

 

Day 12: Manali to Delhi (570 kms/14 hrs)

 

Half day is spent in sight seeing at Manali, visit ancient Manali, Hadimba temple, Shiva temple and monastery in town are the main attractions, by evening drive to Delhi by AC Volvo coach. Overnight journey follows.

 

Day 13: Delhi

 

We will arrive at Delhi in the morning. On arrival, get transferred to hotel for relaxing. In the evening transfer to International airport to catch onwards flight.
