Chinnar trek
Situated 45 km from Munnar, Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the ‘God’s own country’. It is situated 17 km north of Marayoor in Idukki district. The place has some beautiful trails where you get a chance to savor the exotic landscapes and hear the sounds of birds and animals resonating in the woods.
As you move into the jungles you get to see the various flora and fauna. Be prepared to spot the Indian Wildlife species like tigers, elephants, barking deer, chital, wild boar, nilgiri tahr, jungle cat. You also spot several bird varieties such as Egrets, Drongoes, Pitpits, Bulbuls, Orioles, Herons and Parakeets. You spend great time moving around the wildlife. Enjoy the pleasant weather there and the pollution free surroundings.

Start after breakfast early morning for Chinnar trek. Explore the wildlife sanctuary which is rich with flora and fauna. See the watch tower and Thoovanam waterfalls. Keep a look out for the endangered giant squirrel.Return back in the evening. Have dinner at the camp start for your return journey.

For half day treks package cost includes
Rs.300/- per person per person inclusive of entry fees , Trekker’s charge, trekking fees, still camera fees, one bottle of water.

Things to carry:
• A hat, cap or turban
• Sunscreen and sunglasses
• Long-sleeve shirt, long trousers, sneakers or other type of solid shoes. Remember, the sun is fierce!
• Camera and film
• Toilet paper and towel
• Diary, pen, a book to read, cards or other games
• Medical kit (for just in case)
• A big smile and positive attitude
