Situated 60 km from Munnar, Annamalai Sanctuary is now a tiger reserve. The sanctuary covers 958 square km of the territory. This place is not less than green heaven. The striking deep, dark forest is worth visiting once in your lifetime.

There wildlife here is abundant and varied. You will find Indian Wildlife species such as anther, Sloth Bear, Porcupine, Tiger, Deer, Wild elephant, Flying Squirrel, Pangolin, Gaur and Civet Cat. There is no dearth of birds too. You can find Rocket-tailed drongo, whiskered bulbul, Red tree pie, Black headed oriole, Pigeon etc. You can also see several crocodiles in the Anravathy reservoir nearby.

Day 1

7:00 am – The trek starts early morning after break fast. You camp at the observation towers and see the beautiful surroundings. You spend the day exploring the surroundings. At night have breakfast and sleep. You should bring sleeping bag or warm cloth for overnight stay.

Day 2

You have your breakfast and start your return journey. Today you trek through Udumel and Amravathy range. You will get to see lush green surroundings and beautiful landscapes.

Best time to visit : January to February and June

Cost: Rs.500 a day per person

• The team consists of an English speaking guide and tribal trekkers.

• We will provide only 2 bottles of water a day. Carry more if you need more

• Minimum pax- 2

• Maximum pax- 8

• Duration- about 6-8 hrs a day

Things to carry:

• A hat, cap or turban
• Sunscreen and sunglasses
• Long-sleeve shirt, long trousers, sneakers or other type of solid shoes. Remember, the sun is fierce!
• Camera and film
• Toilet paper and towel
• Diary, pen, a book to read, cards or other games
• Medical kit (for just in case)
• A big smile and positive attitude
